Chapter History
The Huntsville/Madison ZTA Alumnae Chapter reorganized in 2010 after dissolving for several years with about 20 dues-paying members. We quickly grew to approximately 50 members, welcoming alumnae of all ages from several different collegiate chapters.
From 2010-2013, we supported the Zeta Psi Chapter at Jacksonville State University, but following the establishment of a local alumnae chapter in Jacksonville, the chapter shifted our support to the Alpha Nu's at Birmingham Southern College in 2014. For a decade we supported our Alpha Nu sisters until the closure of Birmingham Southern College in May 2024. With all collegiate chapters in Alabama being supported by local alumnae chapters, Huntsville ZTA Alumnae voted to support multiple collegiate chapters to fill gaps and spread our Zeta love!
After District 9 was split two districts, we made our District 9B "debut" in February 2014, hosting the district's largest Alabama-Mississippi Zeta Day in recent memory. A decade later, the AL/MS Zeta Day has a reputation as being one of the best in the country!
Since reestablishing, our chapter has been recognized several times at ZTA’s biannual Convention, receiving the Crown Chapter Award in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2024! ZTA Huntsville was honored to receive the Nan Barkley Boettcher Award, which recognizes excellence in all areas of Fraternity life for alumnae chapters with no collegiate chapters nearby in 2016, 2018, 2022, and 2024!
Huntsville ZTA Alumnae Chapter welcomes all sisters near and far! Join us as we live out our sisterhood by establishing and deepening friendships, sharing breast cancer awareness and education, serving our collegiate sisters and local community, participating in networking opportunities and growing both personally and professionally with us!
